Eco-Friendly: These mats are made from natural organic cotton fibres (95%), grown using methods and materials that have a low impact on the environment, without the use of toxic and persistent pesticides and synthetic fertilisers. These fibres are blended with a little jute (5%) to give the mats a unique texture.
Herbal Plant Dyed: The organic cotton has been infused with natural plants & herbs that give therapeutic benefits, according to ancient Indian Ayurvedic principles.
Signature Herbs:
The main herb that gives this mat its signature grey / brown colour is Vetiver. Indigo herb gives the blue contrast colour.
Handwoven: Skilled weavers use traditional handloom techniques to produce an intricate product.
Socially Empowering: Rural artisans in India hand-craft these mats. Purchasing one of these contributes to a wellness fund for the individual weaver & wider community support.
Multi-Purpose: Not just a yoga mat! This natural cotton mat dual functions as a beautiful eco rug for the house.
USE GUIDANCE:
This mat is thinner than our standard rug mats. It's ideal for carrying to yoga class to put over rubber or studio mats for a beautiful personal practice even outside of your home. Super lightweight so you can pop it into your suitcase with ease for wellness retreats too & fold it up like a towel in cases!
This mat is suitable for a gentle beginner's yoga practice, stretching & meditation,
Please note that the texture of this mat varies slightly from piece to piece due to its handwoven natural composition.
One side of the mat has a natural rubber coating which makes it a little stickier. We advise that being the downside of the mat as it will create a firmer floor grip.
Raised cotton weave tractions lines at both ends of the mats provide hand and feet grip support during practice.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
Hand wash in cold water only and leave to dry naturally in the shade.
You can hover these mats due to their rug type nature.
Over-exposure to the sun can cause discolouration to the natural dyes.
Do not machine wash as that may cause the mat to lose shape.
